Model vegetarian and designer extraordinaire Stella McCartney has done it again- made us fall in love. In anticipation of Disney Maleficent's release on May 30th, Stella designed both Sleeping Beauty and Maleficent costumes for girls up to a size 12. I'm really wishing it went up to like at least a 16 so I could try and squeeze myself into one!
Girls have the option to channel their inner princess or villain in high style- it's not everyday you can scoop up a designer playtime outfit that is actually made for fun. Both ensembles are cotton and polyester and machine washable. 10% of the proceeds go to "SOS Children’s Villages, to support community outreach programs and provide a loving home for abandoned, orphaned to vulnerable children."
Aurora's outfit consists of a dreamy pale blue dress with similar gold embroidery to the real thing and enough flounce (courtesy of the tulle) to spin in front of the mirror and feel royal. Maleficent's outfit includes a foil printed purple tulle dress, wings with wristbands and a soft horn headdress.
What's more, the costumes are just two of the pieces part of an entire Maleficent capsule collection that includes edgy sweatshirts, dragon sneakers and Aurora worthy glitter sandals. Age appropriate and absolutely adorable, they promise to allow for hours of imaginative play.
Can we also take a moment to acknowledge how on point Elle Fanning was at the London premiere of Maleficent recently? Looking very much like the princess herself, I love everything about this look. From the simple but elegant dress, ornamented bun avec ribbons to the pale skin with smoky red eyes- she may as well move into Cinderella's castle.
I leave you with the longest trailer to date for the movie and tons of epic eye candy to dream about. Just, uh, remember to wake up to see Maleficent on May 30th.
I like pink things and glittery things and twirling things. I like them even better if they sing and wear a ring.
