OCC New Wave Stained Gloss Lip Tar Review

OCC New Wave Stained Gloss Lip Tar Review

Who hasn't sung the praises of Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (also known as OCC) for being intensely colorful and hella vegan? I popped into the OCC store in the East Village recently while giving a vegan tour, only to happily find out they are phasing out their current packaging and selling perfectly good lip tars for $6, normally $18. Talk about a win-win!

I scooped up the New Wave Stained Gloss Lip Tar which is very flattering on my pale skin without being overwhelming. As with all Lip Tars, it came with a brush that helps you layer the color on to your desired saturation. Surprisingly enough, to get what you see in the pictures I needed to put a few layers on. The initial layer of gloss isn't that bright, so this color is great for layering.

I found their gloss stays on for hours, but does come off as you eat and drink so it isn't bulletproof. I've actually worked it as a base color for my 100% Pure lip colors and it lasts even longer. These pictures were taken in natural light outside with only the OCC Stained Gloss Lip Tar on my lips, so you can really see the true pigment.

The smallest amount of OCC Lip Tars goes a long way, and to be honest I don't see myself using this up unless I wear it day and night for the next year.

Any of their sale Lip Tars are the perfect treat to treat yourself.
